3 Quick Apply Full-time 3 hours ago Full Job Description Who is K Machine? K Machine is a specialized machining services company and on-site industrial maintenance contractor focused on mobile, on-site machining of steam turbines and other heavy rotating equipment.
We operate an 85,000 square foot industrial repair facility in Savannah, Georgia with smaller supporting facilities throughout the southeastern US.
We specialize in planned maintenance activities, rotating equipment inspections, and emergency repairs to industrial equipment, specifically; steam turbines, pumps, high-pressure valves, gearboxes, paper mill and steel mill rotating equipment, and other heavy rotating equipment.
The Southeastern United States is heavily populated with a variety of master craftsmen and skilled workers.

We have acquired a location in the city of Tuscaloosa where our team will be based to serve the paper, steel, power, and other industries within the state.
We already have great relationships with many of the facilities in the area and feel we are well positioned to provide a competent and diverse workforce to support the needs of the industrial complex within Alabama.
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills:
Committed to safety at all times Ability to install, maintain, and repair rotating machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings in an industrial environment.
Construct the foundation for machines and equipment using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
Safe use of tools such as cutting torches, welding machines(stick), hydraulic torque wrenches, hydraulic stud tensioners, and metalworking equipment (lathe/end mill).
Will work with industry-specific and highly complex precision machines and therefore must know how to read blueprints and schematic drawing to determine installation and work procedure.
Will unload, inspect, and move equipment using rigging, hoisting devices, chain falls and hydraulic forklifts or gantry overhead cranes.
Must understand load properties of cables, ropes, hoist, cranes and know all hand/ crane signals.
Must know how to fit bearings, align gears and wheels, attach motors, and connect belts according to the manufacture's blueprints and drawings.
Must have experience with precision leveling and laser alignment in order to measure angles, material thickness, and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, lasers, and other tools.
Ability to perform duties in accordance with training and standard operating procedures.
Ability to stand, squat, and/or work in possibility uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
Must have strong communication skills.
Ability to work 12 hours shifts with flexibility; on call 24/7.
Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and heavy industrial settings.
Must have to ability to operate a forklift.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITES CONTINUED:
Must have the ability to safely maneuver heavy machinery within an industrial setting.
Ability to work in extreme temperature environments.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum of 1-3 years' experience specifically in the field of precision millwright.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds chest high, repetitively.
Ability to train, influence and motivate team members.
Must pass a drug screen, background check, and possess valid drivers license with good driving record.
Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to the department.
Multiple positions available - helper, journeyman, supervisor.
Pay based on skills and experience.
Must be willing to travel within the state of Alabama and bordering states to perform work.
Company vehicle and tooling provided, hotel stays paid by company, plus per diem for overnight travel required jobs.
