Project Engineer - Tuscaloosa, AL - Fortune 500 manufacturing company in Tuscaloosa seeks to hire a Project Engineer to lead small and large scale equipment/capital projects. Requires BSME or other Engineering degree.
Responsibilities for the Project Engineer
Have a strong fundamental knowledge of engineering and management principles
Create effective specifications (RFQs) for upgrades or new equipment projects
Problem solving: gather and analyze information skillfully
Updating and creation of plant drawings, working with On Base document management system
Work with area maintenance team to troubleshoot plant issues, interpret and explain drawings
Design of small structures and improved parts/equipment
Obtain, review, compare, and negotiate contractor quotes
Read, review, and provide input on project proposal drawings for accuracy
Handle simultaneously occurring tasks and projects
Requirements for the Project Engineer
BS Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering degreence
Prior engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing plant
Experience leading small and large scale projects (new equipment and upgrades)
Experience with AutoCad or Solidworks
Willingness to work with engineering department and interdisciplinary team across the plant.
Desire experience with the preparation of proposal layout, description, timeline, and budgets for capital projects
Must be willing to work in a hands-on environment with mechanics
Knowledge of current codes, regulations and standards
