Budget Analyst

The incumbent serves as Budget Analyst is responsible for downloading program reports to be used for budget projections. He/She develops, established and maintains a local reporting system to evaluate budgetary performance. He/She performs work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of the organization's program operation. He/She will keep abreast of regulations set forth bt the Department of Veteran Affairs. He she will troubleshoot to solve problems, tack amount spent on Non-VA Care obligations. He/She will coordinate Non-VA Care budget and accounting questions in accordance with established procedures. He/She will perform random audits of paid claims. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note:
Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Experience that demonstrates general knowledge of budget formulation; general knowledge of standard policies and procedures regarding expenditure and expense items; skill in writing factual reports detailing obligated or expended funds (e.g., travel, overtime, office supplies, etc); basic skills compiling, tracking, and recording financial data/records; ability to use automated systems or databases; providing administrative assistance in a fiscal setting, and/or providing technical financial support, etc. . OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related . OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond Bachelors degree that will, with percentages, make 100% of the total requirement. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
