Administrative Services Manager-Chief HAS

The Chief of HAS administers the Administrative Officer of the Day program, the Enrollment and Eligibility Section, the Health Information Management Section, the Clinical Administrative Support Section and the Non VA Care Coordination/Fee Basis/Fee for Services Section. The incumbent is also instrumental and key in the development of resource sharing agreements with other federal agencies to include the Department of Defense and other VA Medical Centers. He/she provides managerial services and technical counsel to senior management officials and clinical program managers necessary to meet the procedural, legal and administrative requirements related to the care and treatment of veteran patients essential to achieving the maximum utilization of treatment and care resources. Through his/her actions and decisions physicians and other care providers can care for patients with an awareness of the administrative implications of their actions. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Serving as an advisor to supervisors and managers on a variety of substantive Health Administration issues; Supervising a major component of a Health Administration Service program; supporting senior leadership with knowledge of government laws, policies and regulations regarding recruitment, placement and staffing, position management, labor relations, employee relations, employee benefits, workers compensation and workforce development; Planning, coordinating, advising and monitoring human resources services for compliance with national and local policies and procedures.
