Duties to include but not limited to:
Answers inquiries and interprets regulations, policies, and standards regarding finance policies. Acts for Chief, Finance Service during all absences Responsible for maintaining a system of accounting records for all financial transactions of the Department of Veterans Affairs related to or arising from activities within the jurisdiction of this Medical Center. Analyze, supervise and direct the recording of all transactions in the General Ledger and Operating Cost Ledger to provide a complete accounting on an accrual basis for assets, liabilities, operating, interoffice and budgetary accounts. he Financial Manager and Station Management and is delegated complete responsibility to establish and implement accounting systems, which are not in the Department of Veterans Affairs PMS and PAID computer programs using ADP capabilities when applicable Plan, initiate,, and direct the compilation, preparation, and verification of summary reports developed from accounting records so as to ensure monthly submission of complete and accurate financial date to VA Corporate Office or the Network Office. Furnish management with all required and requested financial statements and offer technical advice to operating officials on all phases of accounting including the analysis and interpretation of pertinent accounting data Coordinate all inter-station transfers of credits and charges for materials and services and resolve and difference in interoffice accounts. Directly responsible for the employees and functions of the Accounting Section, Payroll, Budget, Patient Funds, and Agent Cashier Supervises work, performance of employees, layout and review assignments, determine the need for and carry our on the job training Responsible for the planning of the flow of work Responsible for duties that may be assigned from various committees Performs duties involving the analysis and forecasting of the usage of funds within the program Performs financial audits of accounts and financial records Work Schedule:

Financial Manager-Assistant Chief/PD679-7465 To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/21/2020. Time-In-Grade Requirement:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
